Prototypical Hotel design

Amerisuites hotel in Amarillo, Texas (shown here) is one of 15 such projects built in the Southwest. They were designed with the idea of creating a strong sense of arrival and identity lacking from most accommodations of this kind. The front courtyard, located between the reception/breakfast area and the property boundary, as well as an overdesigned partially covered trellis, are the strongest components of the initial experience for the visitor and the main elements of the entry sequence. They are the exterior design's major welcoming gesture and a suggestion of a more domestic place to stay, greatly complimented by the design of the interior.
