The Old Mill Settlement

Fredericksburg, Texas

The old Mill is a 15-unit bed-and-breakfast compound, located near the center of Fredericksburg, a small picturesque town in the Texas hill country with a population of about 7,000 predominantly of German origin. Arranged around three courtyards with distinctly different character, a pond with the bridge, and a large moving water powered wheel, the Old Mill utilizes reused authentic log cabins from Kentucky and Tennessee and a couple of stone cabins executed in the Texas hill country style of architecture. It is a showcase of adaptive re-use in an intimate and quiet setting, and a full-scale 3D post card of building types from about 200 years ago.
